I've got my liner on order now. I looked at one utube video from some guy's who own a shop and they made it look pretty hard. I called five auto interior shops local and only one would do headliners. They want $650 and two days to complete. After reading this post and seeing the great pics I...
I believe you 69 but I am surprised. This project is my first nuts and bolt resto. I didn't research the process "oil pan gasket install" before hand I had no idea I should use extra gaskets. (there has been a lot of steps I had/have no idea of until I have to do it again). The windage tray I...
I see where you're coming from. The only real suggestion I have then is to replace the oil pan gasket with a "windage tray" much better/easier to use gasket and adds horsepower.
I'm amazed at the knowledge that comes from this forum, and in a very respectable tone.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try and get back to you.
Update.
I took the switch apart. ( there are four little tangs that need to be bent out of the way. be careful) Cleaned the contacts, electrical cleaner, cleaned the contacts and plug after 3 tries worked for two blinks then, still making the blinking noise with lights barely visible. Had a...
If I had the money and was closer, I've been following the tv show, "Counting Cars" Counts Custom in Las Vegas. They do it all and the painters are artists. They put out Insane work. Like I said If I had the money.
When you don't have the money, buy a manual and start turning wrenches.
68 Roadrunner, 383hp.
I have power steering that when I got the car the steering gear box and pump where leaking (along with everything else that could possible leak) so I rebuilt the box and found a new/rebuilt? pump.
When I start the car, the front wheels turn to the right. Even when the car...
I got what they told me was a complete kit. It wasn't even close. The first thing on the front page of instructions was "Green Bearings (trade name) needed installed on the rear axle" along with spacers. (replace the tapered bearings with sealed ones) I don't know if all rear disk need these.
Not in the steering column. ( but I did find out why my horn wasn't working)
I unplugged the flasher switch on the dash. Turned it upside down ( after fifty two years it didn't like that) The male ends on the switch look the same but there must be a slight difference because it didn't go on or...
I have a 68 RR. and a 68 Plymouth service manual. There is absolutely no mention of a Roadrunner in my manual. (have not researched why, can anyone tell me?) It's basically the same everything as the Satellite, Belveder and GTX that it does cover. I would try to get one car specific if possible...
I just added 3-point seat belts for the front seats in my 68. I used an existing hole above the post, first welded a nut to a 2x3 or so 16 gauge plate then welded and screwed the plate with the bolt on he inside of the hole to the 18 gauge frame. If you don't have the hole there already you'll...
I tried briefly, soaking parts in different concoctions, after days of soaking I still had to wire brush them off.
On all parts I ether wire brushed, grinder, cut out and re-welded with seam sealer or places where I could not reach, a 3M spray extension on "Eastwood" rust converter . I did this...
I swapped out all four with a different brand but the parts look the same.
It looks like your doing the front only?
The front were were strait forward and easy, I did use the same spindle, all my issues were on the back.
The directions (i know, real men don't need directions) should spell it out.
My 68 did not come with a radio or face plate. I did a lot of looking to find something that would fit.
I settled on a "Retrosound metro 4" $400. The add said it would fit right in like new. What they didn't say was, the purchaser has to put the components, brackets, knobs and hookups together...
