Just to level set - my car retains its original transmission and rear end. Only the original engine is missing. Pretty common situation in the A12 world.

Same here. Mine is a 12" B&B style. Bought it several years ago when I was gathering parts for the eventual resto. But McLeod doesn't make the B&B style PP for MoPars anymore. Went looking for the same kind of set-up for my Duster about 5 years ago and had to settle for the diaphragm style PP.
Interesting car...but no mention of why he executed a color change. If it really is one of twelve, then you'd think that he would have painted it B3...JMHO.
It's not. Flat spot on the bottom of the housing and chunk are even more discernable in the last photo showing the differential from the front. Definitely an 8" Ford unit. Why in god's name would anyone go THAT route??? Rhetorical.
