I picked up a 750 Holley double pumper at Carlisle. Last week I bought a gallon can of Gunk parts washer. I disassembled the carb and put the metering plates and bowls in the basket overnight. The inside of the bowls were nasty there was varnish half way up the plates and bowls. I soaked them for 24 hours and couldn't tell they had been soaked. I found a gallon can of Gunk carburetor cleaner that I had bought somewhere around 2007. This one was labeled Solder Seal Gunk. I put the same parts in overnight and they look brand new. It appears some regulatory agency has taken all the good stuff out. Heck I remember when it dissolved all the plastic parts. I've heard Berryman's is still good. Thoughts?
