Ok guys, here is the offering, will they fit. quote from seller:

Four Weld Wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. 90% tread on tires. These were on a Chevelle and maybe have 5,000 miles on them. The fronts are BF Goodrich Radial T/A P215/70 R14. The rears are BF Goodrich Radial T/A P295/50 R15. Bolt pattern is both 4.5 and 4.75 Ford, Chevy, Dodge.

workable...?

You need to provide wheel width and backspacing info. That is the IMPORTANT information; there is nothing to go off of here to provide the answer that you seek... Get some more info, please...

...and that is a LARGE rear tire to stuff under a stock rear in a RR...this info is CRITICAL...

I'll bet if you check again you'll find that those are 275/60/15. BFG does not make a 295/60/15. And it looks like you're running a stock 15' X 7" wheel. Not enough wheel for the tires he is talking about.

As for these 295/50/15 tires and Weld wheels specifically, the wheel is the make or break issue; not the tire. As Chris as noted on here before - the tire can be done. It's the wheel that is the determining factor on this e-bag offering...

if it's a local guy, ride over with a floor jack and have a test fit......but I'd bet 29550s are too much. IIRC, Chevelles have a bigger rear wheel opening than we do.

Here's the newest info from the posting - quote:

Somewhat difficult to measure with ties on...but
here is what I have. Front wheel width 7.5 inches
with 3.25 inch backspacing. Rear wheel width 7.5
inches with 3 inch backspacing.

Ok, how are we looking? The 295/50's too much for the back?

Based upon ebay photo, tread width is 10.5 inches. Measurement
looks pretty good from the picture (guy has a tape measure laying
across the tire).

Oh yeah, here:

Since I own both a Roadrunner and a Chevelle (please hold your applause till after :acme: ) On my Chevelle I run a 15x10 with a 5.5 backspace weld wheel. I can fit a 325/50/15 with a little rub. The Roadrunner had 15x10 with 5.5 as well. If you use a 295/50R15 on your Runner it will fit, however it will rub. I rolled my quarter lip which made it much better. It will rub the inner wheel house but wont harm the tire or car. Its tight. From what I can tell from the pics in the ad, the wheel has 4.5 backspace unless thats the front wheel. I measure backspace from the back of the wheel where the wheel meets the axle flange to the wheel lip. It varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. I run Welds almost exclusively on my cars so I am comfortable in say the 15x10 will fit. Good luck.

Well, there is another way to look at this...

The guy is asking 350 (with shipping) for the whole package. This entire set up new would run 1300 or 1400 plus tax. I'm not comfortable at all with the idea of the tire rubbing. Chris, I will take your word for it that no damage will be done. However, I don't beat on the car enough nor do I have the inner need to have the biggest rubber in the world on the car. I'd rather down size a little and have zero clearance / rub problems. The car will still look great with a little less.

I might jump in it just for the simple fact that the offering is very reasonable, even if I have to go get a few tires for it.

Other than that does anybody see any other problems? It appears to me with a smaller rear tire I would be good to go with these wheels (bolt pattern, back space, etc).

3" backspacing is not nearly enough. I believe that 4.25"-4.5" is stock. My 8" wide Magnum 500's with 275/60R-15's fit perfectly with 4.5" backspacing.

Exactly. We went through this in Sam's first thread on this subject.

Plus those 295/50/15 tires have a measured rim width of 9.5" and a section width of 12.2". A 7.5" rim is not nearly wide enough for those tires even though they say you can run 8"s...JMHO.

I was just merely giving info on a tire/wheel combo that I used to run. The 3.5 backspacing (if that info provided by the seller is accurate) will NOT work. If you try to put that wheel on your Runner it will not work. Weld Wheels dont come in 7.5 inches, its either 7 or 8. I worry that the seller doesn't know how to properly measure the wheels. This may be more heart ache than its worth.
