thanks for the info so far guys! so this 69 i'm looking at has a fender tag on it and it does not match the vin number! the vin number says its a 383 hi per roadrunner, RM23H9A121823, the fender tag says its a automatic, which i believe is wrong cause it's a 4 speed which looks legit! and as i said the fender tag does not match the vin! i think someone changed inner fenders or something or just lost it! is there any other way to tell what the options were? he want $9000.00! is it worth it! has a 440 but not sure if it runs or if it's a hi perf engine, he said it was a 1975 440! has the 8 3/4 rear i believe, good interior, glass, normal rust, quarters, rockers, bottom fenders, the worst part is the frame rails are rusted through! has a A 833 tranny, rebuilt! roadrunner on sterring wheel, beep beep horn, 383 hood,120 gauge with small tack on right side, split bench seat, black interior, roll down back windows, one mirror on drivers side door, he seems pretty firm at the 9 g, think i can do most work myself, no one has jumped on it yet! have seem some pretty nice ones for 25,000.00 , there is a 1970 for 3500.00 and its just the shell, no interior, parts semm to be super expensive, thinking i should jump on it cause i may never find one again! i'm in alberta canada! seems to be a few more in the states, but up here i think the rust and salt got most of them! if the 440 is gutless i will have to find a 383 0r 440 magnum as well! thks for any info! o ya, the fender tag now is rivited on(new ones) i assume they lost the original and put this one on! just not sure why! you just need thr vin # to register it! i'm going to check out the # at the registration place!

the vin is also under the trun weatherstrip on the left side. sounds like a decent deal but the frame can get involved and good used ones are usually cheap. pics would help.since the engine isn't original you could build the 440 to your tastes.

On the back side of the core support on the drivers side you should see "A9121823" - probably upside down. Sometimes it's on top. Also, as mentioned, the same number should be stamped on the drivers side trunk drip rail lip under the weather strip (A=Lynch Rd, & 9=1969... These 2 digits (A9) are reversed on the VIN). If you see these numbers, then it's likely a Road Runner! Post some pics!

9K seems pretty steep. I just bought a 69 with a good running 383 that has very nice framerails, floors and trunk. It needs lower quarter repair and complete paint, but should be a straight forward project. $7500. I would pass on a car that needs framerails and has a bogus tag at $9000, better deals are out there!
