Just got another set of complete tail light assemblies for our GTX and noticed that the back side of the housing that is facing inside the trunk was painted black but had a gold dye color to the pot metal. Not having the GTX readily available to look at (at Dads house), I would like to get these cleaned up prior to bringing them over to his house. Were they painted black originally or were they just the natural gold dyed color (similar to the Holley carb housing)? My gut feeling is that they were the natural gold dyed color. Oops, forgot to mention it is for a 69 GTX convertible.

AZ Desert,
Going on what the roadrunners had it was natural pot metal in a silver gray color (I guess you could call that a hint of gold)

ok, thanks. Thats what I was thinking also as the tail light housings in my 69 charger and our 70 challenger convert. are all the natural gold cad dyed color to it. Although, just in case it was painted, knowing my luck, I would have left it natural gold dyed color and it would have been wrong. lol.

Thanks again !

Brian
