I know my car had an old school tach in it, I was wondering if there was a way to retro-fit a "factory" in dash tach into the car. Is it just as easy as bolting it in and hooking it up to the tranny? I know I am going to need a tach to learn how to drive this beast and Id rather have a clean in dash look than a bolted on version...

AZ Desert,
They repop them and its pretty easy to wire. BUT they are $239 at Laysons and a harness is $46 I believe. I think it would be cheaper to find an old one and have real time engineering redo it and have it updated for accuracy

My opinion, but I was going to go with the factory tach in the dash; but think about the location and the size. Not going to be very easy to read when you're banging through the gears. I'm going with a column mount so it's right in front of me and I don't have to squint to read it. Just a thought.

This is true! I do have the original Sun Pro tach that was installed shortly after the car was purchased and was in its "fenderwell header, rabbit air shocks" days....

When my bird was in its air shock,60's on the back days I had a Sun tach mounted under the dash overhang to the right of the speedo, when I redid the car and returned it to a more stock config I install one of the factory style repops, works ok,easy to install, but now its got some years on it sometimes I have to tap it lightly to get it to work.
