I am installing the correct plug wires on the 383 RR (the only automatic vehicle I own) and I do not know where this single wire retainer goes. Someone said over by the passenger manifold but, not sure. It just snaps around the plug wire and hangs loose I guess.

I believe that one goes on the #8 wire and snaps into a tab that is welded onto the top of the pass side valve cover. That's what I remember from years ago when I had stock valve covers, that is.

Take that piece and set it aside. Then go and convert your car to 4 speed, then chuck that plastic piece on the ground and do a burnout on it. :acme:

Probably should since I only put about 200 miles on the RR each season. I have just about stomped a hole in the floorboard were the clutch pedal should be. Still gonna need that little plastic piece though.

I know exactly what you mean, Jim. My '74 Duster has a girliematic only because it was the shortest route to converting it to a 340 when I made the change from a leaning tower of power. Can't even begin to count the number of times I wanted to stomp the left (and I don't mean brake pedal) and right pedal and grab another gear... Really kills the fun and the purpose of having one of these old muscle cars as far as I am concerned. My resolve to rectify this oversight (short-sighted mistake) grows stronger with each passing day...but I want to one-up the factory with a 5 or even 6-speed...

You know with 3 more retainers like that you would be all set up to drive a Hemi under the hood
