Super Stock springs or HD's. I am pretty sure I am going to mini-tub the brute, narrow the suspension and put on bigger meats. I understand that the SS springs are shorter on the front half. That would mean drilling the front spring hole further back on the mount (relocated 3" narrower) to accommodate the shorter length. Anyone have any experience with the SS springs. The rest of the fabrication I have a handle on. George did you do this same mod on your hemi-bird? My wife is talking me into putting a Hemi in my bird and packaging and storing the numbers matching 383....what a nice wife! That is why I am thinking of doing the mini-tub and narrowing.

once you get that hemi fever even aspirin wont help...haha....if you are doing a built motor by somebody consider Tim Banning.....this guy is top shelf and can build you anything you want and he"s in canada too.....heres his website....http://forhemisonly.com/
he will stand behind all his work to and a very knowledgeable guy.....you can pick his brain on anything you want to know
when you build a hemi believe me it will cost you but when you pop that hood or hear that roar of all those horses its truely worth every dime spent

I can fully agree. After meeting her in person she's one of a very few uncommon women who really digs cars! Bill and Merrill are a great match. Now, Bill, go get that Hemi!

What can I say. She likes football and hockey, is a great cook, has a great paying job, loves hot rods, supports me when I go racing every year with the TAFC, likes travelling, does her own home handy work, and as for the ring she makes her own jewelry (and clothes) and for the most part is way smarter than I am..... Actually she's pretty darn good to look at too. The hemi thing came up when I said I was planning to retire and she said....drum roll please :rimshot: "a hemi would be a nice retirement present for you"....Ka ching!

When in Florida last week we went to Don Garlits' Museum of Drag Racing and she slobbered all over the cars and (she) took a pile of pictures of hot rods and dragsters. I've always said she'd be good at driving a dragster like a super comp. Maybe someday I can convert that camaro of hers into something really fast, but I'm not a Chevy guy.

Yes I am absolutely and most definitely spoiled.

But now back to the reason were all here....RR's. Two weeks and the bird comes out of storage and the fun of actually being able to drive it in half decent weather. Some work to do but I am really hung-up on doing the suspension....at least for now.

Hello moparstuart ,
I have recently exchanged the HD's for SS . They are the same front half lenghts.Be sure to get the correct lbs rating for your RR.
