Hello,
my radio is a AM. Was a FM radio also availible?
How can I get such a radio?

A little hard to find, but they're out there. You can have the AM converted to AM/FM with an aux jack for an Ipod or Satellite radio.

There's a couple places that do it. http://turnswitch.com/radio1.htm and http://www.retroradio.biz/

Hmmm.... In looking up the Retro Radio site, they have a reproduction radio listed... I didn't see that before. I did talk to the guy that owns Retro Radio at Carlisle and even played with a conversion radio. Nice guy and he seems to know what he's doing.

The first one is an aftermarket unit and is a different design then the original radio was. The second is the correct design, that is having the thumbwheel type controls, and the prices are usually close to that price but that one is higher then some others I have seen. There is no one that builds the radios as originally designed, so if you want the factory look you will need to spend the big bucks, if you're not concerned about that look and would rather save some money, then the other one will work.

I have used those converters in my cars to with no problems.

I have about 3/4 brand new ones in the box now and one is going to be used in the AM/8track player that's in my Runner.

OK, I took the original one. We also did something on the price know I got it for 550$incl the shipping to Germany.
It is ok for me, thanks and best regards Armin
