I would like to you T7 factory 2 stage basecoat/clearcoat from ppg. My father was wondering if ppg sold a factory mixed batch rather than have something that each individual shop mixes. So far we have been to 3 different shops and all the colors have been different. We did heed the advice from the guys here and found a ppg dealer here in CT and they mixed a batch for us. I guess we were just wondering if ppg has the factory color for sale already mixed by them to ensure that we get the right T7 paint. Thanks guys! We are trying to paint the engine bay in the next two weeks and undercoat so we can drop the motor in and get the car running (cant do body work at my house so running and driving would help us finish the last few spots of bondo on the quarters/trunk lid). Thanks again!

PPG has cross over formulas from the old Ditzler paints is why they are so popular.

All the PPG shops around here always mix the paint on demand. Probably more cost effective for them that way. If you need more, I would go back to the shop in Ct. and bring your old paint. If you have not started yet, then mix the old with the new before you start. Good rule of thumb is 7oz. of paint per panel. I guessing it would take 4 to 6 quarts of DBC before reducing to do the whole car. DBC has a very long shelve life (years) even after it is reduced. I would still just reduce want you need at the time for the job.

My A4 RR I bought new had one of those 7 oz runs on the pasenger door. The "zone rep" said that they would not repaint the door because the run was with-in allowable tolerances?
