Best of show from Mentor Ohio did the restoration on this car and brought it to carlisle year before last and had an unvailing with the owner some magazine reporters from back in the day and the news reporters along with maybe 100 guest. When they pulled the car cover off and started the car it sent goose bumps all over.

Mac & I were there also.

More memorable for me that evening was walking out of the place where they debuted PSP to find Scott of F.A.S.T. fame sitting there in his Rallye Green A12 Runner with the passenger door open waiting for a friend to come out. Seeing my opportunity I hopped in and said "Let's Go!" He was a little bit shocked as I had only met him for the first time earlier that day... BTW that car is a stock stroke A12 that runs 11.75@116.60 with a 1.75 60'. He won the 1/8 mile F.A.S.T. shoot-out at Carlisle that year, taking down Ed Cook and all of the other big-inch boys in the process...

I would love to build a motor like his for my Bee. Do you have any ideas as to whats done with his motor? I am guessing the cam and cylinder heads is where the power is.

Everything is internal as it has to look stock...
Lots of cylinder head work. Massaged exhaust manifolds.
No idea what he has for a camshaft.
And those F.A.S.T. guys run tons of compression (14 or more to 1) and GOOD gas...

I remember it well. Cruising Broadway in lovely Gary Indiana. No care in the world. No thought of being shot by random bullets. No boom boxes loud enough to make your eyes water.

Looking for a drag race and back to Burger King or Mickie D's.

Just lookiing for a "Car Wh)$%".

Did I actually just witness in print people applauding a green car?

Or is it the decals and the steroids this thing is on?

There is hope for you fellows after all!

I knew that just wonder aloud if they know it?

I can't believe that Acme actually sat in one but there it was right before my eyes in print!

I'm a closet blue guy and bronze is looking good too. Then there are the two red ragtops in my garage. Hey I figured myself out. I'm multi palette.

Repeat after me: "RALLYE GREEN". :D I have two F4 cars and my SS/T is Emerald Green Metallic, so I'm not really a "green hater" per se. I'm just not that big of a fan of F8...although if you saw that GTX pic that I posted from Carlisle this year you know that even I make exceptions for Coronet Station Wagon Green...ON OCCASION... :yesnod:

I do enjoy all of the :acme: that goes on with the different "color teams" on here though; I think most everyone does. Certainly adds some harmless fun to the mix, and as long as everyone is having fun with it I don't see it going away anytime soon... :D

I totally agree with you on this one Ray. We do have a lot of good nature d fun with this. With that in mind, Gee Ray, with that many GREEN cars in your stable, it almost sounds like you want to join the green team!!!!!
