Getting ready to order a carb and need some help from you carb gurus. I have a 383 HP 4 speed (68) and have decided to go with a holley, but live approx 7000ft in elevation. What carb would be best? I have the good stock heads (re-worked with new valves, springs and don't remember the cam, but it's a comp cam, and hotter than stock. What jets do I need to order for an elevation of 6500-7000ft?:brickwall:

Jerry it might be ok out of the box. Run it and read your plugs then rejet probably down if needed. I'm taking the jeep up to the cinders this weekend and cool down, save some fresh air for me.

Just got back from Rico, Co. Took a week off to fish for some browns and rainbows. What part of the mountains are you going to? As far the carb, a 650, 700 or 750 for the 383? Double pumper, mechanical secondaries? If you come up around Williams, give me a shout.

I would say 750 vacuum if you want something that works smooth with a tall gear, but for all out performance its a mechanical double pumper. Others will have some opinions I'm sure
