I have a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner. I have restored the entire car by myself. I've been at it for five years. However, I'm currently stuck. It has a 440 and a 727 transmission in it. When I go to the drive the car it shifts into drive and reverse just fine. However, I can't get it to go over a couple mph when the gas pedal all the way to the floor. So, the first time I dropped the transmission and completely went thru it and change the valve body. No fix. The second time I can changed out the torque converter thinking I had the wrong torque converter. No fix. I then completely bought another 727 transmission and when through it and did all the adjustments per the manual. STILL NO FIX. I have it on jack stands and I can turn the rear wheel by hands when in neutral. I know the pump is working, the torque converter in new, valve body is correct, the bands are adjusted per the manual. Not sure where to go from here. If anybody can help me, I would be gratefully.

Are you sure the converter is fully seated? Have you checked the line pressures with a gage? I had a Fairbanks full manual 727 that I bought from them and it only lasted about 1/4 mile and then wouldn`t move, they told me it was a cracked pump.
