Hi,
I joined this website to get some expert advice on the projects i plan to take on with my new 69 roadrunner. I plan to add air conditioning because I live in the CA central valley and it gets pretty hot here in the summer time. I also plan to change out the exhaust manifolds with headers. But I,m not sure which kind to get. The car is completely stock..it even has the original carb and distributer
Thanks in advance
Mark

A/C exhaust and spark. Now all you need a place to go.

Get the A/C from Vintage air. http://www.vintageair.com/SelectingSystemForYourVehicle.asp
Although the controls will be under the dash instead of using the original heater controls the way the "other guys" do; if what you really want is cold air; Vintage air is the way to go.
I would also suggest finding a shop that has done these types of installs in the past. I used the air shop in Santa Ana California and was very impressed with John and his crew and with the fit and finish. http://www.theairshop.com/ Because when it comes to your road runner "just throwing it in will not be good enough"

Hands down (in my humble opinion) the best headers and exhausts for these cars are from TTI. High quality and excellent customer service really set these guys apart. They only do Mopar.http://www.ttiexhaust.com/ I have had to deal with some other expensive headers with exotic ceramic coatings that were made by the "if its a muscle car we make headers for it" guys and by the time I had installed, removed, banged for clearance, re-installed, removed, banged up for clearance, re-installed, removed, banged for clearance and re-installed the headers 10 times I was convinced. TTI from now on.

If you want good spark from your ignition then you want MSD. You can always keep your old one in case you want a stock look at some point but the billet distributors work well and their wires are very well suited when you construct them yourself to handle the higher heat conditions of headers. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/msd-8545/overview/make/chrysler. I like the one without the vacuum advance but that is a whole "nuther" forum topic.

If your old "numbers matching" carb starts giving you trouble then just come back to us and ask. We tend to have some diverse opinions on that project.

hope this helps.

Welcome from sunny San Clemente. where we say, "snow? yea I seen that on TV"
