Wow, Chris!
I've never found anything like that wandering around my shop!
Looks to be in really great shape.
I asume when you say there is going to be some casulties you mean your going to sell one or more of your cars to purchase this one? Or have you allready bought the Bee?
Now, when I mention casulties, I'm usually talking about me. lol
Best wishes

A12 ownership on 69LaMancha.net grows...

What a great score, Chris - could not be any happier for you. Between the winged car and the A12 I'd say you're having a bang-up year! What the hell is left on your automotive bucket list??? :D

Now, about that twin-turbo Dart that needs to migrate east...

Well...... I did buy it yesterday. It really isn't a good time to buy for me since hard economic times have hit us. However it was a deal I COULDN'T pass up. So the Mrs. and I did some creative manuevering to come up with the ability to buy it. She is very gracious and realized this car is one of the cars I have wanted to buy since I was old enough to recognize one. I realized that I am going to have to sell some stuff to make up for the hit to us. The casualties will start in the brand x category and may include my 74 Duster and the uh.........(dont hate me for this) 69 Roadrunner. :( My neighbor had one when we moved to Orange County in 1982 and it was bad, silver, lift off hood, 4 speed. He would do huge burnouts in front of his own house and that is still very vivid in my memory. So to say that this opportunity to own this one is truly a dream come true. Its a 70k original mile car that has been garage kept its entire life. It was a drag car most its life and has been mini tubbed and spring inboarded. It has its original top and interior. The 440 is long gone and it has a 413 in it right now. It has a small cam in it and sounds pretty good. It runs pretty good as well. It does have most of its original parts like air cleaner and intake, carbs. It also came with 3 extra 440s one of which is still in a 68 Imperial. One of the 440s has just been rebuilt with 70 six pack rods, crank, and Nos pistons. I probably wont use that 440 and end up rebuilding one of the others. I dont know what I am going to do other than drive the wheels off it right now since it runs and drives real nice.

Okay, funny story, well funny now. So I bring the Bee home and pull it into the driveway. The previous owner tells me he caught it on fire last time he started it and suspects it was from the alternator. He thought he might have spilled gas into the alternator when he was priming the carbs. So it cooked the wiring harness, ignition wires, distributor cap, and spark plug wires. No big deal, the alternator was off and made the trip from the trailer to the driveway without incident. The fuel lines were charred so I thought that I would just change out the fuel filter and hoses for safety. The fuel filter came with hoses and clamps (the spring type). So I fixed all the problems and put the alternator on. So I start the car and within 2 seconds of it running it burst into flames $*^(&!!! now let me say, without exageration, that half the ehgine compartment was on fire including the air cleaner. Now its Saturday afternoon in sunny SoCal and every neighbor was out doing there thing, and now enjoying the show. The flames are a few feet taller than the roof of the car! I bolt for the hose and sprint back and proceed to douse the flames. I suddenly have a sick feeling in my stomach. I take a few minutes to gather up my thoughts. So I disconnect the ignition and have my wife crank it while I have the hose in hand. The fuel line is spewing like the fountains at Ceasars Palace! Well to make a long story short the car runs now but doesn't charge because the wiring is junk. I failed to take any pics because I always forget. The good news is other than the wiring, the ignition stuff, the seal on the aircleaner, and the paint on the air cleaner it made it out unscathed. s$*&t I almost lost it!
