So what do you do with your largely unrestored A12 Super Bee when your bored? You take it to Irwindale, smoke off a set of ancient BFG's, and over rev the poo out of it.

So says the guy who wont take the challenge. :acme:

I had a blast. Its the most fun I have had to date with it. I think a trip to the dyno and a set of drag radials would make it even more fun. Ripping the gears at full throttle was really fun. I over revved it all over the place, the fact that it still runs is a miracle. It spun so much that I had trouble keeping up on my shifting duties.

It turns out that Irwindale's starting line is a slight down hill and the car rolls when you try to stage it. So I was concentrating on my starting line technique versus smoking someone at the light.

It would have been a perfect night except the ramp truck ran out of gas on the freeway in the worst spot. The transfer valve for the fuel tanks is inop and I wasn't able to switch tanks so it ran the right tank dry. Bummer.

I want to do that!

Lets go! Free ride on the ramp truck for your Runner!

OMG are serious? I want to go! I’m 40 miles from Irwindale.
I know you are an extremely busy guy but you let me know when and I’ll drop everything.
All I need to do to the car is fix a pesky power steering leak. I have the original manual steering box and I’m seriously thinking about going back to manual steering.

Yeah, totally serious! Lets go. I love the drag strip.

Steve, it ran 8.80s at 82 mph with 2.29 60 foot times. Thats in the mid 13s at 106-107 ish.
