Well that storm in the Northeast two weeks ago got me good! I was without power for 10 days, and just got my internet back today! :brickwall: A very large branch came down and took out the utility lines and the telephone pole that carried them to my house tearing those lines from it. My pickup was under the edge of that branch and pole, but survived with some dents to the hood and fenders. Another large branch came down on top of the garage but in such away that it didn't do any damage, it didn't completely break off the tree it was more like hinge.. Good thing 'cause it was on the Road Runner's side! By the time I got up in the morning it broke off and was now on the ground. I got by with a fire in the fireplace, and a generator to power the 'fridge and a space heater for a few hours a day. I'm not going to look into a standby generator 'cause I ain't going through that shit again!!!

That's all I was thinking of when that branch came down on the garage! The Dakota is a lot easier to deal with then the classic cars would be!

Fortunately it wasn't really cold enough for that to happen. But there were 4 or 5 deaths from carbon monoxide because people were either bringing a camping stove or generator into the house. One person who had a generator in the house and had the exhaust piped outside but still died because the muffler had rotten out. The biggest problem they had getting power back up was the large number of trees that were down across roads. In some towns there were still streets blocked by trees up to a week or more after the storm. There is going to be a lot of blame to go around for the non response to getting things cleaned up, both by the power company and the towns hit hardest by downed trees.
