I need to adjust both front hood stops. Problem both are frozen in time. Soaked and soaked with penetrant still no go even with additional leverage. I see Chrysler did not use the aid of a locking jam nut once set to desired height.
So w/o opening up a can of worms and destroying things...cutting drilling...etc. Please advise. NO EXTERNAL HEAT SOURCE SUGGESTIONS THANK YOU:(

Impact drill, #3 or bigger phillips bit I have a milwaukee 18v works wonders on everything, the 12v version is great as well.

Unfortunately, the sorry phillips head design won't allow enough torque at the screw head where its needed w/o ringing the center out first.

Went thru this with my car and I just used a small vise grip and got it to finally come out.

Yes the hood bumpers are trash but they are only $10-12 for the pair.

Nope and I just did this way to the dart when I had to take them out.

When I put the vise grips on I do and try to tighten them up as it helps to break it loose and on the Dart I took the brass hammer to the vise grips to give it a little help broke it loose and they were a lot tighter then the ones on the Runner can it or will it break off there's is always a chance. my .02

No external heat source!! You just ruined coyotes day. That is his first choice for anything. He is never happier than when he gets to use his torch.

Good Grief! I would not be surprised if at least one doesn't break. Big vise grips, and try tightening first to see is they break loose (TX to abodybill). Sorry about no external heat source, it's crying out for an Alabama Hot Wrench!

Take that quikbird!
