Hey guys, a little more progress. Got Q5 on underside from the front of Leaf Spring Hangers to back of car. Question: Is it more proper to leave color or use undercoating??

You will want to under coat the wheel wells, little stones off the road can be noisy and will tear the paint up. That goes for the front fenders also, you don't want to throw a rock and have it crack the paint on top of your fender, but do it after the fenders are on the car and after paint :yesnod:

That is what those in the hobby call "over-restored". The factory never painted the bottom but I say if you are going to paint it you might as well do it all! It looks really good! I'll agree with Bob, too. You will definitely want to undercoat it in the high risk areas where stones and debris can impact the bottom of the car.
