still having problems finding the set up for my fan, I bought the HD thermo clutchand tried it and it touches the rad . the parts store ordered the standard thermo clutch and its longer :brickwall: now i guess my question is : there are 4 setups right ? no clutch ( direct to water pump),non thermo clutch, standard thermo, and HD thermo. Correct? now the cars with the 22" rad have the direct setup only?or did they have fan clutches also?

How long is the clutch from fan mounting surface to pump mounting surface?

I see where Bob is going with this. The J & M-coded cars used a shorty fan clutch which is usually referred to as the "070" clutch. No longer available and they cost a bunch if you find a used one. There is a suitable substitute in the aftermarket however. Check out a Hayden 2765. Only about $42 from Summit (last time I checked) and it might provide the solution that you're looking for.

it was about 3 inches from where the fan mounts to the back where the clutch mounts to the pump, and the fins on the front of the clutch was another 3/8 inch . total measurement from the water pump to the rad is 3 3/8 inches think the clearances are too tight

Yes, it will fit. Mounting holes are slotted IIRC.

Have to get back to you on the measurements.

I just put the mopar performance clutch and fan kit on my m code bee. Ray, is this clutch assembl shorter? I can measure it this afternoon if need be. By the way my 22 inch radiator in my roadrunner is a direct, no clutch.
