getting lazy....plus i would rather not have to look this up.

i pulled my dipstick tube out for a cleaning and paint. the way it came out, i thought it would just slide back in, but it seems to just sit on top of the opening. there must have been some gasket seal or something that held it in place.

any dipstick experts out there on a saturday night with no life like me?

should be a tight fit I had to use a block of wood and a hammer to put mine back in. no o-ring on mine or the others Ive seen.

Turn it 180 degrees over and try again. My dipstick goes in marking side down. It won't go in marking side up.

try giving it a very slight flare with a flaring tool just to give it some friction and add some atv black to keep it sealed up :jester:

i was talking about the tube. thought it would slip back down into the hole it came from.
