Actually the has always been rumors of dirty dealings with the Ford/Dodge thing. Henry Ford wanted complete control of his company, the Dodge's as a supplier, owned a good chunk of Ford and there was rumors of pressure exerted on the Dodge brothers to sell out to Henry. By the way on a positive note Henry Ford was good friends with Walter Chrysler and they had a friendly rivalry. The first Plymouth off the assembly line was driven to Fairlane,Henry's estate by Chrysler himself. After showing the new car to Henry and Edsel,Walter called for his limo, leaving the brand new Plymouth to the Ford's. Pretty ballsy when you think about it,considering that Plymouth was squarely aimed at the new Ford Model A. Henry put it in the museum in Dearborne.
