hope yall don't mind a question about my dodge dart. i just put a four barrel intake and carb in my 67 dodge dart (convetible if anyone is interested). anyway, the 318 seems to bog down bad when it shifts. it is almost like it is shifting too early. when i manually shift, it gets a little better.

this is one reason i like to keep things stock, but i really hated that littel 2 bbl carb.

it needed a rebuild if i wanted to keep it anyway.

just so yall will not think i am neglecting my rr, i took it for a cruise on the beach to watch the 4th of july fireworks. LOL!!!

if i manually shift, it is not bad. shifting at about 4500 is fine.

if i am getting on it good in automatic, it acts like it is going to stall. the rpms drop and the valves starts clattering real bad.

i am wondering if i disconneted something by accident when I changed the intake. i did have to modify the throttle linkage slightly, but i dont think that caused anything.

If that carb has two vacuum ports for the distributor you may have it plugged in the wrong one. It kind of sounds like the timing is being affected is my thought  But hang on for more input

yep, you nailed it. the timing was off. i am not going to embarass myself by telling you why.

you know, part of the fun is figuring stuff like this out. i guess this goes back a long way for me. my mom said i never looked like i was enjoying disneyland much. i was much more interested in how the stuff was working than actually watching it work.

thanks for the help.
