Hello all...

Learning more and more about the 68' RR I got 2 wks ago...Apparently, it has an 800 CFM Edelbrock carb on it w/electric choke.

The 383 was rebuilt and has a mild cam, and that's all I know about it.

I was advised to get either the Carter 4401 or a 600 CFM Edelbrock w/electric choke...I also know there is a Carter 4401S...Not sure what the "S" signifies ??

Any ideas on which approach would be appreciated.

Thanks !!!

If you want to go new I might try a Thunder AVS 800 by Edelbrock. Very similar to the original AVS and just as tuneable. Of course, a good Holley 750 with vacuum secondaries is also a good choice. THere really isn't anything wrong with the carb you have - just not as tuneable as other choices.

I have a 600cfm carb on my car and it works great buy a new carb and it will run right-put the ele-choke kit on it Edelbrock from summit the new gas sucks and eats up and rusts up -put fuel injector gas line on everything vents to from gas tank-my car run perfect after I changed all that stuff---750 carb is a lot of cfms for a 383 (a stock one) with headers -and 3 in ex pipe and a cam and intake single (stage)yes but stock a 600cfm is fine
