back up sender

okay heres the question....my car was a 4 speed and now its a pussy automatic.....it has a two prong for the sender and now the automatic has a three prong sender......what do i have to do to covert this over to make it work??....i have a 3 prong plug already :toetap: :toetap: :toetap:

Yes it can be converted. You have to add a third peddle Z-bar and change the pussy trans to a four speed :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

The two outside terminals on the 3 prong are for the back up lights. The one in the center is for the neutral safety switch. Clip the wires on your old wire harness and solder on the new plug to the two outside wires. They should be the same colors. Run a new wire from the center up to the starter relay. You'll need a new starter relay for an automatic car.

Please... please... don't bypass the safety switch. I've seen the results from guys doing that. Sooner or later you will forget to have the car in neutral or park.

i have a neutral safety switch set up in my hurst shifter and i
already swapped out the auto starter relay.....reverse lights hear i come....cool

I saw this post and think my question is on target here.

I am in the process of finishing up the wiring on my dash. I found a much cleaner non stick donor under dash wiring loom.

The only thing missing is that the old harness has a light coming off the Z post at the wiring block for the firewall (my lower dash reverse light).

I was reading the wiring diagram ( page 4 of 9 top). I do not have the old wires.

The wiring harness is on it's way. Does one jump from c to z on the firewall side to get the light to activate once in reverse?

yeah baby reverse lites.....i had a 3 prong plug on there and it didnt secure itself too well....the old zip tie trick work well......thanks for everybodys help
