Figured I ask as the motorcycle street riding, at least around here in Ohio is starting to fade for some but not for me.......only reason I haven't ridden my street bike these past several days is I hate cleaning the bike. I don't mind the wet or the cold just hate cleaning a motorcycle from the street spray:D

So what ya got?

I use to ride a 1972 Suzuki water buffalo, the old water cooled 2 stroke 750 but that was many moons ago. That and many others including dirt bikes and I'm going to try and make a deal on one this morning, an old Honda 80

Um, yeah, I've been known to ride a bike once or twice. Yes, these are me, taken at Mid-Ohio back in 2003 I believe when I was actively riding and racing. I got into the old Mopar hobby after my bike hobby was finished thanks to an on track crash. (2004) As you can see, I also rode, and raced, in the rain.

I still have an '85 Shadow 700VT but it needs work. I need to find someone that can synchronize the carbs and get it running again. Several weeks ago we went to Bair's Polaris/Victory in Canton and test rode the new Indian's. Our family has quite a lengthy history with Indian's, and needless to say I must own a new Scout. I have no idea how I'll be able to buy one, but I'll make it happen somehow, some day. Truth be told....I'm starting to think about getting out of the car thing and selling off the RR and everything I have for it. That would buy me a new Scout, and several other things that I "need to do."

Have you recovered from that track crash, sorry to hear that, hope you're okay.

Try to keep the road runner and figure out a way of getting the Indian. There should be some good deals and financing coming soon with most manufactures so wait a little bit and DON'T SELL THE ROAD RUNNER :D

careful....stay away from Wooster, you may just find some flashing lights in your rear view to help fund that Indian.....
Hate to hear you thinking of letting the runner go after all the work you've put into it Steve.
I had a '74 Yamaha 750 back in the '80s. Bought it from the original owner, had never been out of our small town until I got it.

It was a nice bike and the only thing quicker was the 900 Kawasaki and it had to catch up after my hole shot.

Yeah, I made a full recovery, despite what I was originally told by the specialist at the Crystal Clinic. I highsided coming out of turn 9 at Mid Ohio. I broke my right ankle into about 8 separate pieces. Of course, I then got ran over, breaking my left leg. So, I ended up breaking both legs all at once. Ouch. I had surgery that day for my right leg, and the left healed on its own. The crash was on Monday and I left the hospital on Thursday after having to walk on my broken left leg. That hurt! I was off work for almost 6 months to the day. Luckily I had enough sick and vacation time saved up for about 3 months of full pay. Not bad for only working there for 3 years at that time.

Back in 1996 I crashed my dirt bike while practicing. That resulted in a compound fracture of my right femur, a nice helo ride to Metro, and an 8 hr surgery to install a bunch of rods and stuff. You'd think I'd stay off bikes....

I appreciate the encouragement in regards to keeping the car. In the end, Im sure I will, but every now and again I think about it. I hardly think I would get a fair price for it though. I would never expect to get what I've put in, but I just dont see a lot of money out of it. I could certainly pay cash for a Scout, pay off a bit of debt, and get my butt back up in the air. Im feeling that calling again, very strongly. I started flying lessons years ago but never finished anything. Before I get much older, I need to get up in the air and actually accomplish something. My father was in his 40's when he started, and Im not very far behind him now.

As much as I love my car, I have no real "connection" with it, other than it being a fun, expensive hobby. Flying and Indian motorcycles however go way back the family line.

I sold my 2012 Street Glide to finish the Road Runner...
Haven't missed it yet. Especially now that I drive my car a few times a week.

I have had a few bikes but this is the one I'm proud of, I did a complete down to the frame resto on a 1973 Triumph Tiger 750. I sold it for all the wrong reasons 5 years ago.

I did a similar deal on a TZ125 Yamaha back in the early '80's at Bridgehampton LI. Just got back from a big off-road race and got talked into doing the road race at Bridgehampton and seized the little sucker on the first lap of practice and did the 85 mph high side and broke my left talus and the local ER doctor said nothing was wrong. That was the first bone I had ever broken in 11-years of racing and I couldn't leave the track and head home to my doctor because my friend that I drove there with was in contention for a WERA championship. This was Saturday and he had a Saturday and Sunday race. To top it off the local hospital had a policy of not prescribing any pain medication for fear the racer would head back to the track all numbed up. "I'm okay in fact I think I can fly" :stupid:. So I toughed it out still thinking it wasn't broken then found out Monday that it was and that if I had surgery I was going to lose a lot of movement in my shifting foot and I couldn't have that with what I was doing for a living. Spent 8-months in a cast and six of those on crutches because it was a non-weight bearing injury. A much longer (funny) story is attached to this but maybe sometime I'll bore all of you with it.

Love Triumph's, still have a '69 T100R 500 Daytona buried somewhere in the garage....should get it out and ride it....here's an old photo of it before I buried it. Akront rims and Koni shocks and the rest is all stock. Great looking classic bikes. That's a Polaroid photo that's how long ago I lost it in the garage :haha:View attachment 8004

I know this isn't what y'all are talking about, and I know I might draw some ire from "motorcyclists" but here's my main thing now. Bought it in 2010.IMG_0326.jpg

Cool, and no worries the 3-wheeler/ATV crowd refers to them as "bikes". Several co-workers used to race Honda 3-wheelers, two of them at pro-level. Again very cool
