I have to get me a four speed transmission. Have to. Have to. Have to.

In the course of keeping a lookout for one, it has occured to me that I might find a truck that has what I need. Is there a chance that this is possible? What about the the pedals and other stuff? I am not looking for firm answers, but has anyone done this?

My main question is should I even be considering the possibility. I have NO parts for the four speed conversion.

I am also considering the nearly $3000 "all included package" that a company in Alabama specializes in: transmission, pedals, z-bar, shifter, etc.

I would talk to either Brewer or Jamie Passon. Both of these guys are very good and can fix you up with whatever you need.

Take a few minutes and check out the Brewers website to get an idea of all the parts you need. You could piece it all together yourself but for a first time conversion its better to go one-stop shopping since you are paying for their knowledge and experience too. I bought my #'s correct replacement bellhousing from Passon and other odds-and-ends from Brewers, both were great resources and very fast to ship. You have the option of aftermarket manual transmissions with overdrive, but personally i liked the originality of the A-833 plus there's lot's of literature on the install. If o/d is important then Passon can set you up with a 4-spd that's built for abuse. Don't forget to fill it up with gear oil before the test-drive!

All good advice offered above.

Benny, are you looking for a 4-speed for the Runner or the Dart?
