"The waiting is the hardest part" is what Tom Petty said. He was right...

I checked in on my car today. Things are looking sweet! This guy has done an awesome job, and all at a very reasonable rate.

The interior was painted. The bottom of the car and wheel wells are undercoated. The car looks great, very straight. It has a couple flaws, but nothing people will notice. Man has it come a long way! He spent 4 days blocking the car! I'm very impressed and happy.

I was a little surprised at how orange R4 is. I've been looking at other R4 cars to make sure it's right...it is. It's not Go Mango or Vitamin C orange by any means, but it seems more orange than red to me.

He's doing the interior doors black tomorrow. Car is getting painted Monday and Tuesday, black stripes Weds, coming home Thursday (maybe Friday).

I've got a ton of parts ready to roll. I picked up my disc brake conversion kit this morning from and all of my lines (brake, trans, parking brake, and fuel) all pre-bent and looking sweet from Inline Tube.

I'm taking my trans to a local shop Monday for a rebuild. Motor is supposed to be back Friday, but I'm doubtful since I haven't heard from the shop since I dropped it off a couple weeks ago.

I'll have some really good pics at the end of the week. Here's what I took today...

 Does the body work exceed the expections of your boy? He is looking pretty hard at that door. I'd say there is something there that does not meet his standards..... :lmao:

The vert is looking great! Brings back a lot memories of when mine was in that stage. Take your time putting it back together. When something insn't going together the way it should be........take a break for awhile and it will go better. Don't ask how I know this :lmao: :lmao:

I am blown away at the pace this resto is moving along at! It looks great!

I'm heading over there tomorrow morning at 10am to check out the paint job. The entire car is painted in R4 and curing right now. I'll post more pics tomorrow. He's painting the black hood stripes on the car Thursday morning and I can bring the car home Friday.

Just watch how fast I put this thing together!

I've been prepping parts for the past week. My brother and I stripped down the dash board the other day, painted it, and reassembled most of it today.

I have a stock pile of parts ready to roll for when the car gets home Friday.
My goal for the 1st week the car is home is to...
-take apart the front end, paint everything, and reassemble with my new rebuild kit
-put in the front disc brake conversion kit with the lines
-pull the rear axle and paint it, and put in my new leaf spring set-up
-install the new gas tank and run the lines

Here are some pics I snapped over the past couple days...

I do like me some 71's. I know you want to get it on the road, but take your time and do it right the first time.
