saw this on the RoadRunner Nest

He told the entire story back at the '05 'Nats when they were celebrating The Year of the Road Runner. He then recorded a segment for Hot Rod TV on DVD and those of us at the 'Nats who signed up for it (like, everyone!) got initial run DVD's. It was worth the entire trip to hear him tell the story.

    Electronic Ignition conversion

Don't bother with the Orange Box. It is junk. I know it comes with the kit but my experience and that of a friend is very negative with the Orange Box. The Chrome Box is better - or get a Borg Warner from Pep Boys, etc. I have had the electronic conversion system on my previous '71 Charger SE...

Stock Magnum cam, is it 228-241 duration or 213-225 duration?

Bob is a magician with his 6 pack. I talked with him about installing one of his cams in my 383. He said install it with 2 degrees advance and it would run great. I am tempted to give it a try one day...

    Hood Insulation

my dad's was a 383 4 speed stripper (almost no options) and it didn't have a hood pad. Mine is a highly optioned 383 and no mention of a hood pad on the build sheet. I think it might have been mandatory for California cars but don't hold me to that. I have seen many a road test back in the day...

    New pre-bent brake lines.

Yeah I used them for my pre-bent brake lines as well. Funny thing was their patterns didn't fit my car (front disc/rear drum) so after trying two different sets (they paid for all shipping to me and back to them) they asked for pics of my setup. After seeing the pics they said "if you want to...

    TTI Headers

I have the 1-7/8" tti's in the chrome finish on mine. I got them back in '03 and went with the chrome for economic reasons. They still look ok but I would recommend a better finish. Mine is a 4 speed car and the headers went up in minutes - literally. I had the car up on 4 jackstands and put...

Hi Tom. Go here: http://www.69roadrunner.net/mopar/showthread.php?6450-Correct-markings-for-1969-Roadrunner/page2 and scroll about half way down the page. Look for a post from Jim S. It has a pic of the bird placement on the door of my car. Your stickers should be on pieces of paper that are...

    Operation: Road Runner

Sure Grip was not standard equipment - it was optional. Open rear end was standard equipment. 3.23 gears were standard, however.
