Hot dang, that's a spicy 383! I've watched a lot of people beat the daylights out of 383s and make them perform as hard as a 440 or stock hemi. I love seeing what people can do with them with a little work.

I'd also question driving it a thousand miles even if you know it's in great running condition. If it's got a 3:91 or 4:10 in the rear, that's gonna be an expensive and high revved thousand miles.

Recently I watched a guy with a Dodge Dart doing high 11s at the Memphis Motorsports Park. Turns out he's got a 383 with 906 heads and an 850 cfm carb. He's got a Mopar cam and an Eddy intake. I don't know what compression he's running, but it can't be too high since he's running with factory...

I made the decision a long time ago to put the factory AM radio on the shelf. I'm installing a sound system with a FM radio and CD player. I don't give a crud about pleasing some nitpicker at a car show about a perfect factory interior look. I'll be the one driving it and I want to be booming...

Yea Memphis is absolutely notorious for car theft and home invasion. Crime statistics speak for themselves as to why this is such a problem here. I'll leave it at that. But because of this, I have to take every precaution I can to keep my Mopar. None of my questions regarding kill switches...
