Thank you Russ, I really enjoy doing that kind of restoring, but working out of a two stall garage shop wouldn't work for a business. Hope you're having fun with your Runner...
It is a slow process. The hard part was replacing the damaged area and getting the replacement piece blended in. That was my last winter project. Good luck with your restoration project ...
Hi Jack. I bought mine from Tony Parts and it was in rough shape, but well documented by Tony’s Parts and he had the parts to repair it included. I cleaned it up and repaired/install the damaged part and put a new finish on it. I assumed you would install the center section first and then the...
Hi Russ. I looked in the service and parts manuals here and found the assembly, but no mention on install or removal process. I was just hoping To get some reply from someone who has installed one. I know I have a N96 hood as some of the original attach rivets were still in it, I didn’t want...
Is there a perfered order of installing the 3 main components the airgrabber assembly? I just got done restoring an old assembly and ready to install- I don't want to brake anything... Thanks
Hi Russ, I saw where there was a switch on the 70 RoadRunners, but didn’t know if anyone had tried to adapt it to work on a 69 or how much wiring is involved. Thanks for the reply..
Not sure if this is the correct forum, but need to know if there is a way to prevent the starter from engaging if the clutch pedal is not engaged? Wanting to add this as a safety . Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Does anyone know how common and on what the Orange Air Grabber Box was installed on? I’m repairing an OEM unit I got at Tonys Parts and will need to put a new finish on it and was thinking about the orange look.
I was going to try a repro unit, but finding you can't get one anywhere, all are on backorder and have been for almost a year. I've heard there are general fit issues and quality with the repro items. Good luck with your search.
Thank you Russ. Yes. I have that reference point from past discussions. I'll keep looking, they are hard to come by. It seems they are going for half a grand, even if they are junk.
Thanks Droptop, I just came across them and hasn't seen any comments on our forum. Does paying$400 for a really rough one seem excessive, when you know it will be another $4-600 to get it gone over? Thanks for tutor input..
If you don’t mind me asking, how much were they wanting for a damaged air grabber. I’m looking at a pretty rough one here and the guys wants $400 for it. Is that in the ballpark??? Thanks
