The old ones were ok if you kept all the contacts clean you probably payed a pretty penny for the new one right, I know you’re going to laugh but I cleaned mine with ketchup and still have it and works like a new one, also check the firewall connector may have a loose connection
Don’t use a gloss color cause I used a gloss black and every time I drive it on a sunny day I have to lay a towel over the dash cause of the reflection of the sun
See if you can use a longer stud for the bumper bolt and weld a washer to a nut on the bottom that way the bumper bolt will go through the top fender nut and through the washer and into the bottom nut and the more you tighten it the more it will squeeze it together maybe you can figure it out
