I owned a '71 GTX back in the late 70's it was an original 440+6 motor pistol grip 4 speed. I think they are more rare than the 68-70 models. I was still driving my '68 RR at the time and mostly took the '71 to car shows.
Agreed...the 40's and 50's iron has lost a lot of steam in the last 10 years. I think the american muscle cars will have more longevity with the different generations of buyers, but time will tell i guess.
The car was serviced before i received it but since i could not verify what type oil was used i changed the oil to my fav which is the valvoline 20-50 ZR1 with zinc. Since i am new to owning this fabulous 1968 hemi engine i was wondering if i need to add any zinc to the mix or just run with what...
Thx Bob...i saw your car at the cruise and said to myself i gotta find one!!. The car was in a museum for many years and ended up on the market. My red one went in on the deal. Ill come out to 67th with it this coming sat.
If the add says this is 1 of 435 cars made that year does that mean exact duplicate of that cars options or just the major components like engine, trans, body style etc??
i just took delivery of this ‘68 RR and It has F70 14’s all around which I’m not digging. Where is the best place to get a set of 15” steel rims that will work with the dog dish hub caps. I want to go with 215 /70 R15 front and 235 / 70 R15 rear. Thx
Interesting unit i just installed the aftermarket gauge and need to top the tank off to see where the needle goes. If its off i will get one of these and try it. thx
