Well after much measuring and stressing out I came to the right distance from the leading edge of the scoop and used the bottom edge of the dust trail as the base to place the emblems and a little scotch tape overnight in case that emblem tape lets go. Gotta have a beerskie after that and hope...
That’s my thought. I’m thinking of using the bottom line of the dust trail to follow over and past the side scoop.
It seems by looking at a lot of 70’s that other than getting the measurement from the scoop rearward, that it seems to be at the right spot. When I put a small level on the dust...
Well it’s cooling off here in the desert somewhat and I’m thinking about applying my 70 RR badging to the quarter panels(adhesive type).I need to know: Am I applying them level to the ground as a bubble level indicates or am I applying them in relation to my dust trail decal after taking the...
Back to the neutral safety/reverse backup light switch…A tranny guy said there is a little lever or finger inside that activates and deactivated the switch and either it is broke or someone serviced it and may have forgot to put it back in correctly, don’t know yet. Anybody had this issue with...
The nice install on that grounding strap looks great. My question is: Does there have to be a grounding strap? My gas gauge works perfectly if that makes any difference.
Hey Russ! Morning from the HOT desert! I am taking a close look at the front end components which most have been replaced, however things like ball joints and their lubrication are going to be looked at.Shocks are fairly inexpensive compared to other parts so that has joined the list of scrutiny...
Pulled the trigger today on a set of Milestar (street steel) 245-60-15’s. Just wanted a good looking tire that wasn’t a Cooper or a BFG-t/a. The price and balance and svc. out the door could not be beat! Get this, I left the shop and drove down the road at 35-40 mph with all the expansion joints...
Top of the aircleaner is spotless. I think might have been a carb backfire, they put a new Holley on so that might be the culprit. No big deal, just order up a new one…thanks for the opinions!
This hood insulation pad is or was brand new and it looks like it was wet and mold, kinda has a dusty sort of color. I live in the desert,so I can rule out mossy/mold. I had to have a new carb put on at the shop. Could it have been a carb belch when tuning and sprayed with a fire extinguisher...
I have always heard about backspacing and I guess back in the day I never gave it too much thought. How is backspace measured? I have factory Steel wheels at 15x8 front and rear. I’m thinking it is pointless to think a 245 or larger in front will have any advantage over the current 235-70-15,so...
A lot of bad reviews on the t/a’s,like so many things of the past…they just aren’t making them like they use to. Too bad! I have the BFg silvertown redlines on the car now…really like those, but very spendy and they are coming up on 9yrs old,but seem fine. No weather checking, lots of tread.
Inspection by my shop did not see anything wet from the pan back. They replaced the pan gasket and saw no evidence of the rear main seal leakage. But when I left the shop and drove home and shut down for 30min.
I found a quarter size oil spot under it.
The obvious is change the rear main seal...
Got the pan gaskets changed and drove home a ways on a hot day here in the desert and found a half dollar size oil spot 15 min. later and a ready to drop oil drip on the weep hole of the flywheel inspection cover. Anybody think it might just be residual oil? Was told that everything back from...
