So sorry for your loss. It is the hardest thing a "dog person" will ever have to do. I've been through it, and going to go through it soon also, my 13 year old Border Collie (dusty) is failing, and I sure dread the future. I hope your memories will get you through this tough time.
The telephone company I work for owns several town in Arizona that they purchased in the 90s from US West. One of my employees lives in Bagdad (one of our exchanges), and I go visit him regularly. I'll try to contact the owner and get him interested in this web site, and find out more about...
I know I saw something on here about the measurements and locations of the stripes, but can't find it now. Getting ready to paint the stripes this weekend, can anyone clue me in? Thanks!
:soap:
Went to visit one of my employees in Bagdad, Az. the other day and was talking about roadrunners. I told him about one I should have bought a few years ago for a very good price. A guy had a '69, with a 440 HP & a 4 speed that just needed a paint job for $6000, and came with the original 383...
Going to need some buffing and my bodywork wasn't perfect, but my patience was running low. I quit drinking beer a month ago after 45 years, now I'm about ready to start back.
And Bob, you are correct in the fact that the new outers seem to make the quarter bulge out. It's was really tough to get the front of the quarter to meet the bottom of the rocker panel. Either that, or the fenders are not quite as tall as they should be??? But everything else was a walk in the...
I take it that the new piece of wheel well is already welded to the old one? You might just have to use more of the new one or old one that was cut off to extend to fit the quarter lip. I know that's not what you wanted to hear.
50%, Oh well I missed the movie, corvette, transmission, and Lightning questions. Oh well, GM and newer fords don't mean a whole lot to me. Why didn't they have a question relating to "Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry"???? :jester:
OK, so you are replacing the 'outer wheel well" as well. I'm taking it that you have not spot welded the wheel well on yet, if so, have you tried adjusting the wheel well? You might have to rotate CW or CCW the wheel well slightly to see if that helps. On mine, passenger side fit perfectly going...
Welcome from Williams, Az.! I have an employee in Wickenburg that is an old Mopar guy too. He bought a new 68 Charger RT when he was in the service and he talks about it all the time. He is from Michigan also! There must have been Mopar fever running wild in Michigan back then!
Skins or full quarters? I guess it really doesn't make much difference, but I just put two rear skins on my 68, the passenger side fit perfectly (with no gaps in the new outer wheel wells I had just installed) while the drivers side took a bit of work to even get close to fitment. Both ended up...
OK, but you guys have been on the "show" circuit for much longer than I have. I just don't want anyone to look down on my car if a 68 looks wierd with '69 stripes? Most the time I could give a rat's butt about what folks think, but wouldn't want to get my blood pressure up, someday....... The...
PPG alright, but # is 5929 (Electric Blue metallic), shows to be a chrysler color, but I don't think B5? I have another PPG color that I'm going to paint some of the interior with, slightly lighter and is #18496 (bright lapis blue metallic). I'm not going with the original 2 tone blue interior...
