No not true. The 18 is the HEMI/6pack trans. It is the stronger one, but the 23 is a very strong trans too. Like quikbird said if you haven't really built up your engine the 23 will be fine.
I want to be sure this is installed right. The fork rod that attaches between the Z bar and the clutch fork has a slight bend. Does the bend angle toward the middle of the car? That's how I have it now. I cannot tell from the diagram in the service manual group 6 clutch section fig 9. By the...
I agree. I did everything myself but the machine work. Hoping for a good start up with no hiccoughs or leaks. Still got a bit to do but I'm closer every day. Install the 4 speed next.
I think it was you that asked me to let you know how the installation went. It wasn't bad. I had to drill the 5/8 holes at the bottom of the caliper brackets but all in all it was what they said and it bolted right on. The tech line answered all my questions too.
Finally got it done. Bolted right on, no spindle change needed. There was an issue with the caliper mounting plate. I had to drill the two lower 5/8 holes where the bracket mounts to the spindle and lower ball joint. Overall easy install.
Well, the engines in, the front disc brakes are done, and the power steering is back. Got to bolt on everything else, and it's ready to run. Can't wait.
Hello. I am building a 440 for my 69 Roadrunner. It is a motorhome engine and it came with an extra forged steel crank. It has that crank, a 509 cam and about 10.1 comp. I have the electronic ignition that came with it in 76. Took it apart to clean and lube. It has two different springs. What do...
OK. I am standing in front of the car looking at the engine. To my left is the passenger seat. That is the side the engine is shifted to. So according to VRD, the engine is actually shifted to the right. I have been told it's for torque, wheel hop, and steering column room. All good reasons but...
A guy goes into a bar with jumper cables over his shoulder. The bartender says hold on buddy, and looks him over. Then he says OK. You can come in BUI DONT START ANYTHING!!
Yes. Like everyone said, same as a 906 with hardened valve seats. I remember way back when unleaded fuel became mandatory everyone was looking for them. They will be fine.
