1973 Plymouth road runner, real RM vin roadrunner, 400, four speed, major project as outer body is very rusty, underneath pretty solid except for part of rear frame rail, have collected lot`s of parts - complete `73 Rallye dash, correct Pistol Grip shifter set up, correct air cleaner, comes...
I just wish my antique phones camera would focus once in a while  , I`d buy a new one but that takes away from the car fund. Sorry for all the crappy pics.
Outer wheel houses are not too bad just lower front and where they meet the extensions are rusty so I made the decision to just splice in the bad sections. After cutting off the passenger skin I found damage from a previous accident so I am hammering it back into shape along with fitting the new...
Love it! Mine is very low option but I am adding the air grabber hood and dust trail stripe as they are too cool not to. I haven`t decide on the tail stripe color yet though - black, white or gold? Car is FC7 with black interior.
Ya, I hated to do it but I ground down a chunk of metal I use as a dolly to fit the curve of the edge so once I fine tune it there will very little filler needed.
Ya, I use self tapping screws to hold panels together in places you can`t get clamps then just weld up the hole afterwards. What`s a few more when you`ve already welded and ground hundreds, and I still have the front floor pan to do? At least I have my Barracuda to drive while this...
I haven't updated in a while but still picking away at it. I have been fixing the lower corner on the drivers side and fitting the quarter panel. I finished fitting and welding the extensions on today, hopefully get both quarters fitted and clamped on to check trunk and door gaps before welding...
Ya, been thru it with my Barracuda - took me a long time to get it done but it was worth all the time, money and work. Progress seems painfully slow as old age and bad back limit my work time so probably looking at getting it in paint sometime late summer/fall and assemble it over the winter to...
Ya, I always hang to any old parts untill I ma sure I don`t need them. Pics are on my thread in restoration projects although I need to get some new ones up.
`69 will not be the same as the extensions are different. Overall I am pretty happy as there is always some needed hammer, dolly, fitment work when replacing panels. I didn`t measure or save the old panels like I usually do as they were replaced with skins by a previuos owner and were a hack job.
"While they are generally solitary birds or are found in pairs, a flock of roadrunners can be called a marathon or race." No wonder why we all want to race each other!
Can someone measure thier quarter panel from edge of door jamb to edge of extension right along the top edge? I am doing final fitting and my AMD panel seems to be just a bit long making my door gap too tight. I`m not sure if I just need to adjust it back a bit or it`s longer than factory and I...
I hope you know I was just kidding/being sarcastic since I drive old, polluting, gas guzzlers myself? I do resuse/reduce/recycle as much as I can but I am never going to to sell everything and live off grid to try and save the Earth from "climate change".
