Yeah, I've heard Chrysler engineers did a great job with the stock iron intakes. Those are respectable ETs out of the 383.
A few reasons why the DP4B is attractive to me.
1) No choke housing to interfere with Holley vacuum secondary linkage. Yes, one could use a spacer on a iron intake...
I love the DP4B Intake.
I've got one going on my stock appearing 383 HP.

As I recall, my firewall has a dimple where the tach wire grommet should be. I just got my reproduction M&H wire harness from Year One. The grommet with this harness measures roughly 0.860" inch. A 7/8" inch knockout punch measures 0.885" inch which may be about right. I'll test it on some scrap...
Okay, well I did end up buying the M&H repro tach harness. I'll just measure the grommet that comes with that.
I was hopping by chance that a half inch knock out punch would be the magic size to get a clean factory like cut. If it's an odd ball size guess I'll use a stepped drill bit. It's...
Okay, looks like Year One answered my first question -> https://www.yearone.com/Product/1966-74-a-b-e-body/hu6869
Still curious if anyone know the answer to the second?
...for 1969 Road Runner:
1) On the dash side of the firewall, does the tach wire integrate into the dash harness or is the tach wire independent from the dash harness?
2) What size O.D. is the firewall penetration for the tach wire grommet?
Thanks!
A moparts member posted the following. Seems to know what he's talking about ->
1969 383 Road Runner:
F70-14 "SPEEDWAY" red STANDARD - T83 on b'cast or window sticker
F70-14 "SPEEDWAY" white OPTIONAL - T82 on b'cast or window sticker - no charge
F70-14 "POLYGLAS" red OPTIONAL - T85 on b'cast or...
That pretty much sums it up for me.
I've chosen to retain the Heavy-Duty cop car drums that Ma-Mopar put on there in 1969. For me, it's about having an authentic handling 1960s Muscle Car. All the fluff they put in the magazines anymore just doesn't do it for me like it did in high school.
