Okay, this should be one of the last reference questions on bolts. Are these correct radiator bolts? My RR had 3-of-4 with 7/16" Hex, 0.912" OAL, Washer = 0.754" "N" head stamp with the three crosshair type dashes. Pic below.
After many years I shut down my Photobucket account after they removed ALL my hosted pics and demanded ransom money for them. Now I'm on Flickr and haven't looked back. It doesn't crash my computer with all the pop-up ads and whatnot
My original 69 RR horn and horn bolt was missing. I bought a used RR horn off ebay. This horn bracket shows two different witness marks from the washer. The outer mark measures approx 1.100" and the inner marks are approx 0.810". (See pic below)
My 69 RR was built at the St. Louis plant with a...
WANTED: Fender Bolts, Nuts, Studs, 69 B-Body, Factory Original
Working on my 69 Road Runner, I’ve mapped out about six fender fasteners I need to bring the car back to a factory fresh look. I’d prefer to find good original and not use reproduction stuff. If anyone has a 68 or 69 B-Body parts...
I’ve started towards prepping the engine compartment for paint. I’m wondering if there is a general guide for proper fender bolt type and head markings? I found this article by Roger Gibson and it’s helpful but I’m wondering if there is something more specific to a 69 Road Runner?
My passenger...
Yeah, I actually had a factory tach I just sold to finance my upcoming bodywork. The reproduction tach is a strong possibility though. However, when I saw the way the tach in the OP seemed fitting to the car, it reminded me of a nostalgic day-two mod like in the following pics. But relax, I have...
Update: Here's some pics of the car: http://www.uniquemankato.com/vehicles/436/1969-plymouth-roadrunner-2dr-hardtop
Is that the Mini Sun Super Tach II at 2 5/8"?
Okay guys, Okay!
Did you see my Garage? It's not easy being green. Guess there's really something to that.
Anyway, the guys at moparts think it's a Sun Super Tach mounted the traditional way, by a house clamp or the more modern solution, a big zip tie.
I always assumed there would be...
Help me out. I haven't really looked into this as I'm a ways out on the project but I'd like to know how they mounted the aftermarket tach on this column shifted car? My car is column shifted as well. Anyone know how they accomplished this? Contemplating if I want a reproduction tach in the dash...
I understand the desire to go with a 440. My first car was a 1968 plain jane 318 Charger. I put in a 440 and made the car into an R/T clone. The car was more valuable and fun in that form for sure. However, I will say that I don’t feel bigger is always better. Bigger is perhaps a little too...
Yes. What vendor should I source the pivot seals from? Are they all pretty much the same quality?
Also, I'm keeping the car stock. What do I need to decide for the wire harness?
Thanks Dave. I just get a little discouraged with the scope of my project sometimes and how molasses sloooow things go a lot of the time. And I'm not getting any younger. It's really a love/hate relationship with this car, but ultimately I know it would be a big mistake if I sold it.
There has...
Thanks for the tips everyone. The dash is OUT!!! I took lots of pics and some panning views with video. Every nut, bolt, retainer, fastener is bagged and tagged. Here are a couple of pics:
Well, I've come to my better senses. I'm keeping the Road Runner. It's no longer for sale. I'd remove this ad if I could but apparently there is no way for me to do that.
Soon, I'll be setting a course for the unknown. Removing the dash from my 69 Road Runner. I've done many car projects but removing the dash was never part of them. So I'm wondering what tips and techniques work well for this. Is there a disassembly sequence that works best?
Note. The windshield...
