After installing both sides, they fit OK but I don't think the pop-0uts were made to fit the trim package I have. They seem to fit where the rubber lip would go over the body but the trim sits above. I think I said before, I would do without these trim pieces except, there are six holes in the...
I installed the passanger side pop-out yesterday. There are gaps mostly at the bottom to the body but also my window sits lower than the trim. Gaskets and sealer! I'll get the other side in today and re-evaluate.
68 Man, do you have a close up pic from the back of your belt line curve on the 68?
Does it match up with trim on the drip rail? Neither side fits real close to the body around the curve.
I guess I use filler?
OK, found the issue. When I rebuild the gear, (over two years ago)I did not seat the Pivot Lever correctly into the Spool Valve that's inside the Steering Valve Body Or possible the split on the other end of the Pivot Lever that seats on a small ridge inside the steering gear housing itself...
I was thinking about the piece your showing but also the trim Russ was pointing out.
Thanks for your responses. I'll order that gasket/weatherstrip today.
Got my replacement "belt line trim" piece, new condition for only $235 (only) Have the
missing bracket for window support installed.
What do I use for adhesive or weather strip between the trim pieces and the body?
Gasket adhesive?
Thanks Hemi. You got back to me once on the wheels turning and was right on. It's the valve assembly not the hoses. I've tried to find thicker o-rings but so far have not found the exact sizes looking for just a little thicker.
I have a leak I can't fix. It's out of the "steering valve body" also called the "valve assembly" (both names on different pages of same manual) on the top of the power steering gear . The pressure hose goes into the top and the non-pressure line goes into the front.
the book say's 7 ft pounds...
Hey, sorry I haven't answered until now, wife needed a vaca so out of town for a bit.
Thanks all for the pics and the knowledge. 68 man last two pics are what I have. I need the "belt line trim" because the door trim matches up and there are holes in the top of the door for install. My car is a...
Thanks for the window trim pic. For some reason, my trim is different. The trim piece in my pic, it appears to me, to mount on the inside with a screw hole at the back. Although on both sides there is no hole to mount and it fits kinda funky on the curve. I have not tried to bend it in...
Acme,
Thanks for the response.
I was actually looking how the back of the window frame hooked to the body. In your pictures, the inside and outside are already trimmed out.
Looking at the project again, The area in your pic that is covered at where the end of your handle is about. I noticed...
Does anyone have a picture of what the rear hole in the rear pop out window mounts to?
It's been a long time since removal, the front attaches to the post but there is nothing to attach the back of the window to.
On my 68 it's a vent/fuel vapor return, not a fuel return. Here's a picture of Bob's engine. Black canister in front of fuel pump is a "fuel vapor separator" mounted correctly. If I get your question right, fuel line from pump to separator, from separator to carb, smaller tube on bottom of...
