Thanks for the reply. I know it was relay hard to get those 906 heads off. But the new aluminum ones where a lot better to handle weight wise. I will try to keep everyone up to date on how they work for me. :thumbsup2:
Has anyone put a set of these heads on a 383. Directions state after installation fire up the motor and bring to running temp then let it cool down and retorque the heads. This is a bummer, but I guess it is what it is. More work . If you have these heads, how do they work for you. Thanks Russ.
At times my four speed is a little hard to get into reverse. If yours's a four speed, make sure clutch pedal is all the way down. Then wait a second to go into reverse. That seems to help in shifting.
Mine was running at around 180-190. But after replacing a cracked head it gets around 200 and 210. I would like to get the temp. back down to at least 180 driving and 200 in stopped traffic. Putting new 440 source heads on now and a new Holley brawler carburetor. Hope this solves my temp. problem.
A whole lot of work to be done on this one. Like mine the more you dig the deeper it gets. LOL. I kept AMD in business buying sheet metal from them. Even doing all the work yourself except for the motor it got deeper and deeper.
Could be a problem with the bulkhead connector. Is key switch on dash or steering column. Check to see if you have voltage with key on to the engine bay.
You can get the sheet from MMC and fill it out. My car did not have the fender tag. So listed all the options the car had after restoring it. Like A/C and bucket seats with console. I just wanted to fill that spot on my runner inner fender. Now not to deceive any one when selling it but don't...
Could be a bad connection at fire wall. If you own, it would just replace Ballast resistor and the ECU along with the coil. Yes is it pointless ignition or points. Good luck with the quest. :thumbsup2:
This site was a great help putting together my runner. Lot info was gotten as well with the Manual supplied here that is no longer available. A jab here and there is just all in fun. :steering:
Looking into price on the new runner. Called my local Chrysler Jeep-Dodge dealer and they told me it will be a while before taking orders for the car. Now the price is up there for the larger motor and standard Tran's. Looking at least 66 thou. 33 thou. for the six-cylinder car. Yes, and it is...
I don't bother with face book or any other social media for my road runner. Have been here and on For B bodies only and will stick with these sites. :thumbsup2:
