    Finding reverse detent difficulty

Thanks. It is a A833. You’re the second person that’s given me the tip to wait an extra bit when it’s running. I haven’t had a chance to check that technique yet. It’s the engine off it’s easy. Just when running. Appreciate the reply!

    Finding reverse detent difficulty

Ooops, sorry for that man. But mine is a ‘69. What I’ve discovered now is it seems normal/easy to find reverse gate with the ignition off. If the car is running, finding R out of Neutral is sketchy.

    Finding reverse detent difficulty

I didn’t make the engine on/off distinction before today. With the motor off it seems normal. I can find the reverse gate consistently. My issues looking back have been with the engine on. There’s no issue engaging reverse then starting the car? I’ve never started any manual engaged before...

    Finding reverse detent difficulty

Usually I’ve found it immediately after out of first and the right pressure left. But finding the gate seems inconsistent. I admit it could be me tho because it’s so new.

    Finding reverse detent difficulty

More often than not I have difficulty finding reverse. All forward gears are fine. I understand it takes a bit extra pressure. Is it better to try to feel the reverse detent coming out of 2nd or 1st, or does it matter? Is there a best technique to help a new RR owner? Thanks for any insights!
