I just installed the temperature sending unit on the reverse servo port, 1/8" NPT. I did NOT like seeing the sending unit inside the servo cavity so I redid it using an extension so nothing would go past the casing. Just like the original plug.

Well, still fighting this 1977 Chrysler A727 TCI Streetfighter auto/manual transmission. It worked great until I had T/C issues. First one sprung a leak at the weld. The second one had internal problems which caused trans fluid to burp out of the vent hole on cold starts- too much fluid drain...
For what it is worth...........mine is at approx 2,100 @ 60 MPH. Of course, I put 2:76 gears. If I recall, the 3:90 gears would give you your reading. Not much different than having the four speed manual. Hence, I made a highway cruiser by changing the ring/pinion to the highest possible...

Found out the repair SPEDI-SLEEVE goes on the "torque converter" hub and NOT the pump. There may be a special bushing out there that takes care of 'drain back' but I'm NOT sure.
I did NOT have this 'drain back' with the first torque converter "TCI"...

The "TCI" trans. I purchased is the "Street Fighter". I assume this tranny has all the 'bells and whistles' done to it which includes a shift kit but I can not swear to that. It is a blast to manual shift it with the "Quick Silver" B & M shifter.

Looking at the attached picture I have of the 440 and 383 air cleaners, I can NOT figure out which one you purchased and cut down.
The 440 cleaner is an inch lower...
