- Retired now. Parents purchased a new 1971 Road Runner with an air grabber hood when I was 16 years old. I took my first DMV driving test in it. Then, first time at Fremont Raceway as a teen I won a trophy in an amateur bracket class (Car ran low 15 second E.T's). When I graduated from high school, worked in a Chevron service station and purchased a four-door 1965 Plymouth Valiant. Put a four-speed in it and began to bracket race it once or twice a week. Parents sold the Road Runner to a friend of mine for $2000. This year I purchased a 1972 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus to restore and kinda relive my youth, I guess you could say. Car nuts and animal lovers are good people, aren't they (us)?
